On Wednesday, December 17th, the U.S. Securities & Exchange Commission finalized its controversial rule to regulate indexed annuities as an investment product. Mike Tripses, Steve Phillips, and Paul McGillivray from Creative Marketing were in attendance. During their follow-up teleconference, they discussed what Rule 151A is expected to mean for producers and carriers; what is wrong with the rule and how annuity carriers will defend state-based insurance regulation; and what if anything producers need to do now.
